KQ gained 18.9% in June
Kenya Airways (KQNA), also known as KQ, was the best-performing stock overall on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in June. The stock gained 18.9% to close the month at Ks11. KQ is up 117.8% in the last 12 months.

The airline reported revenue of Ks54.5 billion in the six months ended September 2017.

Sameer rose 12% in June
Sameer Africa (FIRE) gained 12% in June, becoming the second-best performing stock in the month. The stock closed the month at Ks2.80. Sameer Africa is up 12 in the last 12 months. The tyre manufacturer generated revenue of Ks2.6 billion and profit of Ks13 million in the fiscal year ended December 2017.

Mumias jumped 7.1% in June
Mumias Sugar (MSC) rose 7.1% to close the month at Ks0.75, rounding out the top-three best-performing stocks in June. But sugar miller is down 31.8% in the last 12 months. For the fiscal year ended 30 June 2017, Mumias Sugar reported revenue of Ks2.1 billion. Revenue was Ks6.3 billion in fiscal 2016.

Stocks outperformed the market
All the three stocks outperformed the broader market. The Nairobi All Stock Index, which tracks the performance of all Nairobi-listed stocks, was up 1.1% in June.
